Hey everybody I have recently read an interesting Study of Motorcycle Oils. www.goodoil4u.com/pdf_forms/g2156.pdfI have been in discussion on a different board with several people. About the oil they are using in they're bikes. Needless to say several of them seem to think that using car or diesel oil's in they're bike's is Ok. Alot of them try to back it up with UOA's. From a recent Sport Rider Magizine article www.sportrider.com/tech/146_0308_oil/index.html They did a dino test on a Suzuki and Yamaha with interesting results. I know that the results are not exactly representative of all car oils. But it is interesting non the less. I'm Interested in what the visiters and members of this board think about this subject.

Gary,
Very interesting article, I had not seen the one from sportrider.
I thing the most important thing that people should take from these tests it that one has to look at all of the tests together. I other words, you can't just look at the viscosity index and then pick an oil from that.
I would also say that for motorcycles it would seem to me that the shear stability and foam suppression would be two very important tests, since many cycles run at high rpms and some also share the oil with the gear case.
