I need to know if Ams oil is good for vehicles with many miles. 150-200 thousand is the range I need to consider.
If so, how about new vehicles with very few miles? Say, less than 5,000?

A quality synthetic motor oil is good for any vehicle that is mechanically sound and does not use or leak oil in excess. Switching to synthetics is like quitting smoking, the sooner the better. You may have smoked for 30 years but quitting now is still better.
As far as a new vehicle I would advise changing to synthetics on the first scheduled oil change. New motors produce a lot of wear metals during the break in process. Staying with the factory fill oil for 3,000 miles will allow time for this break in and the wear metals can be drained with the first oil change.
