I was concerned when I saw there was no TBN so I sent an e-mail to find out why? Reply follows.
Dear Gary:
Thank you for contacting Oil Analyzers Inc. with your concerns.
In response to your inquiry, the kit you purchased is for the AMSOIL Tri-Gard Program, not the Oil Analysis Inc. Program.
Both Labs have the same name; however, AMSOIL Tri-Gard (stock #'s ATG01 and ATG02 ) is physically tested in Superior and requires it be a personal vehicle, use AMSOIL motor oil, uses the full-flow, by-pass and air (if available) filtration systems. AMSOIL Tri-Gard does not test other oils; only AMSOIL motor oil. The program does not include a TBN or TAN. This is the way the program was set up years ago. The results are not available electronically.
The Oil Analysis Inc. (stock #'s G1318. G1451, G1451U) tests all oils, has no requirements and is physically tested in Ohio. A TBN or TAN, whichever is applicable, is included with this program. Registration for viewing the reports electronically is available. Both programs are monitored and managed here in Superior.
Thank you again for the opportunity to respond to your concerns. As always, please feel free to contact us again if we can be of further assistance.
Sincerely
